Local Guide to Instagram hotspots in Paris

Paris is unique and different than any other city in the world. The mix of old and new with undeniably cool fashion makes this beautiful place one of a kind. The Eiffel Tower and The Louvre are probably two of the most iconic places to take a memorable photo but after a year of living here, I’ve discovered some other interesting places to explore with my phone.

Discover one of Paris' amazing public parks
Walk through Jardin des Plantes
Plants that want your attention
Come closer and take a look

Jardin des Plantes This beautiful park right off the Gare D’Austerlitz is one of the lesser known parks in Paris. Just like its name, you can expect to see a spectacular array of flowers during most of the year and capture some vivid pictures.

Pere Lachaise No one would ever think of heading to a cemetery to snap some photos but this one in particular hosts some of the coolest looking tombstones and interesting melange of famous people buried. Chopin, Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf and Molière are just to name a few.

Range of perfumes line the room
Come and have a sniff

Le Grand Musée du Parfum You will feel like a movie star as you sashay through the red carpet leading into this iconic building.  Formerly the headquarters of Christian-Lacroix, you can expect nothing less than style and class in this building dating back to the 17th century.

Local paris hangout
Petanque anyone?

Quai de la Loire “Jaures” French locals hang out in this lovely riverbank for a game of pétanque. Less flashy than Pont Alexandre III and less touristy than Île Saint Louis, you might find yourself getting to know the real Paris and capturing the moment with a photo.

I love Christian Dior
Fashion anyone?

Musée des Arts Décoratifs The Christian Dior Exhibit is on display until January 2018 and its times like this when I am reminded of how lucky I am to live in Paris. I think I lost count of how many photos I took that day. #ilovefashion

Passage Gustave Lepeu Situated in the 11th arrondissement, a quiet street lined with plants and cobbled stones sets the mood for this local area. There may not be anything extraordinary about this street except to note that the residents must enjoy a sense of tranquility and calmness when they come home every evening.
